Operational Risk Manager

KCB Bank is seeking a highly skilled Operational Risk Manager to develop and maintain an effective operational risk management framework within the Group. The ideal candidate will ensure the embedment of operational risk management practices, facilitating business growth while maintaining robust controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• – Develop and maintain the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) in line with Group policies and procedures
• – Plan, schedule, and conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) for business units, support functions, products, and projects
• – Develop and maintain Group risk registers, ensuring clear ownership, action plans, and progress monitoring
• – Develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and escalate any breaches
• – Review new products, processes, and geographies as part of the New Products Approval Process
• – Plan and conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) for new processes, products, and geographies
• – Establish a comprehensive training program on various risks and embed a robust risk culture
• – Engage Risk Champions on emerging risks, outstanding issues, and RCSA review needs
• – Sustain risk momentum through risk dialogues and reporting within business units
• – Develop control standards and control self-assessments to mitigate identified risks

Requirements:

• – Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field from a recognized university
• – Master’s degree in a business-related field (preferred)
• – Professional risk management certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, IRM, FRM, PRM, GARP)
• – 6 years of experience in risk and compliance management in the financial services or banking sector
• – Excellent communication and project management skills
• – Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competence in stakeholder management
• – Sound knowledge of bank operations and prudential risk management regulations.
