Position Overview:

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing the comprehensive payroll operations for all Ericsson entities in Sub-Saharan Africa. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while overseeing a team of payroll professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Management:

  • – Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all Sub-Saharan Africa entities
  • – Manage team to collect and prepare payroll inputs from various platforms
  • – Validate reconciliations between payroll inputs and vendor outputs
  • – Ensure timely submission of bank files for payment processing
  • – Coordinate with payroll vendors to deliver payslips and statutory reports

2. Compliance and Reporting:

  • – Ensure timely reconciliation and submission of social security, tax, and pension reports
  • – Coordinate with auditors for monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions
  • – Oversee the completion of SOX and ABC controls monthly
  • – Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • 3. Financial Oversight:
  • – Ensure timely submission of Journal Vouchers (JVs) and other reports to finance
  • – Oversee monthly GL reconciliations with payroll JV reports
  • – Support People Business Partners and Total Reward team in payroll-related activities and projects

4. Team Leadership and Development:

  • – Manage and develop the payroll team to ensure high performance
  • – Plan and support team members’ competence development related to payroll
  • – Update and maintain payroll work instructions

5. Project Management and Continuous Improvement:

  • – Participate in payroll-related projects and initiatives
  • – Coordinate with payroll vendors to improve processes and meet deadlines
  • – Ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance of payroll and benefits across all entities

Requirements:

1. Education:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • – Professional certifications in payroll management (e.g., CPP) are a plus

2. Experience:

  • – 5-7 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • – Strong knowledge of statutory submissions for social security, pension, and tax
  • – Experience working in a matrix organization
  • – Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • 3. Skills and Knowledge:
  • – Excellent understanding of Sub-Saharan Africa payroll processes, JVs, and tax submission procedures
  • – Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • – Knowledge of local labor laws in the region
  • – Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is a plus
  • – Fluency in English; French language skills are a plus
