Position Overview:

The Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department, ensuring smooth financial operations and contributing to the company’s growth. Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Data Management:

•    – Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the accounting system
•    – Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices, resolving any discrepancies
•    – Prepare and process payment runs within agreed terms
•    – Assist in raising customer invoices accurately and promptly
•    – Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments
•    – Reconcile customer accounts and resolve invoicing disputes

2. Accounting and Reporting:

•    – Enter financial data into the accounting system, adhering to company policies
•    – Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records
•    – Assist in preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
•    – Support month-end and year-end close processes
•    – Help maintain the general ledger by posting routine transactions

3. Compliance and Tax:

•    – Assist in preparing and filing VAT returns and other tax forms
•    – Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies

4. Financial Analysis and Support:

•    – Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering and inputting data
•    – Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records
•    – Process employee expense claims in line with company policy

5. Administrative Support:

•    – Handle financial queries from internal and external stakeholders
•    – Assist in answering phones and managing correspondence related to financial matters

Qualifications and Skills:

• – Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
• – 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
• – Proficiency in accounting software tools
• – Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting
• – Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel
• – Experience with accounting systems (preferred)
• – Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies effectively
• – Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• – High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
• – Strong collaborative skills and adaptability to new systems and processes
• – Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
