Agriculture Research & Partnerships Manager

One Acre Fund, established in 2006, is a non-profit organization serving 1 million smallholder farmers across six African countries. They provide agricultural services, quality farm supplies on credit, and training to improve harvests, resulting in a 50% increase in food production for participating farmers.

Job Overview

One Acre Fund is seeking a Senior Agronomist to join their Global Impact team. This role will be crucial in developing and implementing research strategies to improve agricultural products and services for smallholder farmers.

Key Responsibilities

• – Design and implement research projects to evaluate new agricultural products and services
• – Optimize agronomic guidance based on farmers’ capacity, location, and seasonal conditions
• – Analyze and communicate complex technical concepts to various audiences
• – Engage in knowledge exchange with partners in the agricultural sector

Requirements

• – Advanced degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, or related field (PhD preferred)
• – Expertise in at least two of: fertilizer formulation & evaluation, soil carbon dynamics, crop physiology and GxExM interactions, systems agronomy
• – 5+ years’ experience in research and extension focused on smallholder agriculture in the tropics
• – Strong research skills and proficiency in data analysis (R preferred)
• – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• – Experience creating various content types (white papers, case studies, blogs, digital media)
• – Familiarity with agricultural R&D processes, experimental design, and data interpretation
• – Fluency in English (French, Swahili, or Kinyarwanda preferred)
