Job Description

The Assistant Human Resources Manager will support the HR Leadership Team in overseeing daily HR operations. This includes implementing human resource strategies across recruitment, compensation, associate development, compliance, and HR systems management. The successful candidate will ensure seamless delivery of HR services that align with JW Marriott’s commitment to operational excellence and employee satisfaction.

This role requires a results-driven individual with a strong understanding of HR best practices, labor law compliance, and HR technology tools. The position plays a pivotal role in enhancing employee experiences, aligning HR functions with business goals, and cultivating a workplace where talent can flourish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR leadership and teams to execute strategic HR initiatives and daily operational tasks.
  • Coordinate recruitment processes and ensure adherence to Marriott’s talent acquisition standards.
  • Monitor total compensation processes, including salary, benefits, and incentive structures.
  • Ensure HR activities comply with Kenyan labor laws and Marriott International policies.
  • Support associate development programs, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Manage and streamline HR reporting, data analysis, and documentation systems.
  • Maintain HRIS accuracy and ensure data integrity across all systems.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity practices within the workplace.
  • Foster positive associate relations by providing guidance and resolution support as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a human resources role, preferably in the hospitality sector.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or equivalent accreditation.
  • Proficient in HRIS tools and systems with high levels of accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance practices in Kenya.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in luxury hotel or international hospitality environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead HR initiatives that support organizational change and transformation.
  • Exposure to global HR policies and practices within multinational organizations.
