Job Summary: What Does an Assistant Sales Manager – Leisure Do?

The Assistant Sales Manager – Leisure will work closely with the Leisure Sales Manager to drive business within the leisure travel segment. This role is ideal for someone who understands the luxury travel market and has a proven ability to build lasting client relationships. Key Responsibilities

• Consistently achieve and exceed personal sales targets (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients through regular sales calls, entertainment, and site inspections.
• Develop new lead sources through referrals, cold calls, and industry networking.
• Coordinate and manage sales trips, tradeshows, and familiarization (FAM) visits.
• Implement creative sales strategies and account-based marketing plans tailored to the leisure segment.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting by submitting weekly sales reports to the Leisure Sales Manager.
• Update and maintain customer databases using Opera and physical records.
• Represent Fairmont The Norfolk at relevant events, exhibitions, and industry functions.
• Collaborate with other sales and catering teams to generate cross-functional opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, preferably within a 5-star hotel environment.
• Strong understanding of the leisure travel market and luxury travel clientele.
• Experience with Opera Sales & Catering software is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Ability to travel locally and internationally as required by the role.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
