Position Highlights

Reporting to the Regional Bancassurance Sales Manager, this critical role will be responsible for:

  • – Driving insurance and retail product sales

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Performance

  • – Achieve comprehensive sales targets for both insurance and retail products
  • – Meet and exceed budgeted sales objectives
  • – Identify and meet customer needs through strategic selling and cross-selling of general and life insurance products
  • – Maintain a customer retention ratio of 85%
  • – Monitor and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance
  • – Drive Life Partnership sales and ensure set budgets are met

Customer Relationship Management

  • – Manage customer queries and complaints related to insurance products
  • – Provide timely and effective resolution of customer issues
  • – Escalate complex queries to appropriate management teams
  • – Ensure accurate documentation and application processing
  • – Assist clients with claim documentation and form completion

Operational Excellence

  • – Conduct branch staff training on bancassurance products
  • – Ensure strict adherence to credit control policies for premium collection
  • – Manage claim reporting and documentation
  • – Maintain compliance with KCB group policies and business expectations

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Background

  • – Minimum C+ in K.C.S.E., with C+ in Mathematics and English

Bachelor’s degree in:

  • – Insurance
  • – Actuarial Science
  • – Marketing
  • – Related Business field
  • – Professional insurance certification preferred
  • – Diploma or Master’s degree is an advantageous addition

Professional Experience

  • – Minimum 1 year in sales
  • – At least 6 months in customer-facing or relationship management roles
  • – Strong knowledge of insurance products

Bancassurance Sales Representative Job Description

The Bancassurance Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales targets for both insurance and retail products within assigned branches. Reporting to the Bancassurance Regional Sales Manager, the role ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service, seamless processing of insurance applications, and timely resolution of customer queries. This position is critical in maintaining a competitive edge in insurance sales while ensuring compliance with KCB policies and credit control requirements.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day insurance business activities, support pipeline reporting, and drive retention strategies. This role requires proactive engagement with customers, staff training on insurance products, and effective collaboration with branch and head office teams to optimize sales performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve set sales targets for retail and insurance products according to branch budgets.
  • Deliver high-quality sales through cross-selling of life and general insurance products.
  • Maintain customer retention ratio of at least 85% within assigned portfolio.
  • Provide pipeline data and monitor own performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and claims, escalating unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of applications and supporting materials.
  • Collect premiums in accordance with the credit control policy.
  • Conduct training for branch staff on Bancassurance products and processes.
  • Collaborate with committees, head office teams, and service providers to ensure consistent marketing and communication.
  • Prepare post-event evaluation reports, and monthly and annual performance reports for management review.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the Commission for University Education; Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance, Executive Certificate of Proficiency, BCOM in Insurance and Risk Management, or COP Exemption Certificate.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in sales, with strong knowledge of insurance products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic reporting systems.

  • Experience in customer service and client relationship management within banking or financial services.
