Key Responsibilities:

  • – Develop and maintain a consistent content calendar.
  • – Attend events with TT and/or the SMT team, capturing content to create social media cards for various channels.
  • – Respond to social media queries, coordinating with relevant team members to ensure accurate and aligned responses.
  • – Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
  • – Respond to comments and direct messages on social media platforms.
  • – Brainstorm and research ideas for original content.
  • – Create compelling graphics, including infographics and motion videos, for social channels.
  • – Help create and edit short-form videos.
  • – Develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
  • – Assist with photo and video content shoots.
  • – Ensure brand messaging is consistent.
  • – Assist in managing and updating the website (ALE).
  • – Conduct oneself professionally and personally to uphold the reputation of Mercy Corps and support its humanitarian mission.
  • – Perform other duties as assigned.

Learning Objectives:

  • – Develop critical-thinking skills by contributing original ideas during brainstorm and ideation sessions with the organization head and development team.
  • – Enhance written communication skills by producing original online content.

Qualifications:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field.
  • – Design and video creation skills are an advantage.
  • – Strong team player.
  • – Critical thinker.

Success Factors:

  • – Coordinate procurement and logistics tasks to deliver successful programs while demonstrating excellent stewardship of donor funds and compliance with Mercy Corps and donor regulations.
  • – Maintain strong cooperative relationships with other departments and interact effectively with international and national personnel in both managerial and training capacities.
  • – Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and process information in support of changing program activities.
  • – Commitment to teamwork and accountability.
  • – Thrive in evolving and changing environments.
  • – Prioritize effective written and verbal communication in all situations.

  • – Dedicate 5% of time to learning activities that further personal and/or professional growth and development, in support of Mercy Corps’ belief in learning organizations.
