The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) is a State Corporation mandated to coordinate and lead Kenya’s response to alcohol and drug abuse through research, policy development, regulation, enforcement, advocacy, and public education.

NACADA works closely with national and county governments, development partners, media houses, civil society organizations, and the general public to promote awareness, behavior change, and compliance with alcohol and drug control policies. Job Description

The Corporate Communications Officer is responsible for enhancing NACADA’s corporate brand, image, and visibility while fostering goodwill and mutual understanding between the Authority and its internal and external publics. The role supports the development and execution of communication strategies, media engagement, content creation, and digital communication initiatives.

As part of Kenya’s public sector communications jobs landscape, this position contributes to reputation management, stakeholder trust, and effective dissemination of information aligned with NACADA’s mandate.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Communication and Brand Management

  • Provide input in the development and implementation of communication policies, strategies, campaigns, and departmental plans.
  • Support implementation and enforcement of the Authority’s brand identity manual.
  • Participate in corporate activities, public events, and official functions.
  • Assist in maintaining customer and stakeholder databases.

Media Relations and Content Development

  • Carry out print, broadcast, and social media monitoring.
  • Assist in creating content for media supplements, documentaries, press releases, features, and media appearances.
  • Edit and design Authority articles, advertisements, newsletters, brochures, and flyers.
  • Gather, collate, and curate content for internal and external publications.

Digital Communication and Public Engagement

  • Support internal communication through designated channels.
  • Assist in updating and managing the Authority’s website and social media platforms.
  • Respond to media, customer, and stakeholder inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain an up-to-date register of customer complaints and communication queries.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, Communication Studies, or Mass Communication from a recognized institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional membership in a recognized communications or public relations body.
  • Exposure to corporate communications officer jobs in government or public institutions.
  • Interest in long-term public relations and communications careers in Kenya.

Other Requirements

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with digital communication tools.
  • Fulfillment of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
