Position Overview

ENGIE Energy Access is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Assessment Intern to join their Customer Finance team in Nairobi. This role offers hands-on experience in credit assessment, loan processing, and customer relationship management within Africa’s leading Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGo) solar solutions provider.

• – Level: Junior (experience < 3 years)

Key Responsibilities

The intern will play a crucial role in the credit assessment process by:

• – Reviewing daily loan requests and evaluating customer creditworthiness
• – Verifying customer KYC documentation and financial information
• – Analyzing MPesa/bank statements to determine loan qualification
• – Conducting customer financial assessments using the NAM tool
• – Communicating assessment results to applicants and sales team
• – Processing assessments within 30-minute turnaround time
• – Managing customer assessment cases
• – Handling CRC payment crediting and account payoffs
• – Maintaining strict adherence to shift schedules

Required Qualifications

• – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
• – 1 year of customer assessment experience, preferably in microfinance
• – Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel
• – Excellent customer relationship management skills
• – Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (additional local language is a plus)
