Credit Corporate Analyst – Role Overview

The Credit Corporate Analyst at Family Bank plays a pivotal role in evaluating the creditworthiness of corporate clients. This includes conducting rigorous financial statement analyses, risk assessments, and market research to support well-informed credit decisions. The role involves preparing detailed credit proposals, presenting findings to management committees, and ensuring alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of corporate credit proposals, including new requests, refinancing, changed requests, and annual due diligence reviews.
  • Evaluate financial statements, risk profiles, and repayment capacity to inform sound credit decisions.
  • Prepare detailed credit proposals and present findings to the Management Credit Committee and Board Credit Committee for approval.
  • Develop financial models and spreadsheets to analyze credit applications for new and existing corporate clients.
  • Ensure adherence to Family Bank’s credit policies, product profiles, and timelines in the approval process of corporate credit facilities.
  • Conduct industry and sector studies to update credit policies and procedures, supporting prudent lending to specific corporate sectors.
  • Maintain custody of Board Credit Committee minutes and coordinate the implementation of board recommendations and directives.
  • Monitor audit compliance and ensure high audit ratings for the Credit Department.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers and cross-functional teams to structure credit solutions that balance business growth with risk mitigation.
  • Perform any other official duties as allocated by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounts, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional credit, accounting, or financial certifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ practical experience in corporate credit analysis, with a proven results-oriented track record.
  • Experience in banking, corporate finance, or a legal background is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financials and make sound credit decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, internet, and email applications.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and maintaining corporate credit policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment frameworks and credit decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to support, mentor, and grow talent within the Credit Analysis Unit.
  • Familiarity with credit analysis software, CRM tools, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
