Airtel Customer Experience Intern Job Description

The Customer Experience Intern will support daily retail shop operations while assisting the customer service team in delivering an exceptional in-store experience. This role offers hands-on learning in customer engagement, sales support, product knowledge, and operational processes within a fast-paced telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist customers visiting the shop in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Respond to basic customer queries regarding Airtel products and services such as SIM registration, airtime, bundles, and device troubleshooting.
  • Support the resolution of customer complaints by escalating complex issues to Customer Service Executives or the Shop Manager.
  • Promote Airtel products, services, and ongoing offers to enhance sales performance.
  • Guide customers through Airtel Money registration, PIN reset, and transaction processes.
  • Educate customers on digital self-service platforms and responsible financial practices.
  • Maintain shop displays, branding standards, and overall cleanliness to reflect Airtel’s brand values.
  • Assist with other operational duties assigned by the Shop Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Up to 1–2 months of experience in sales, trade promotions, brand visibility, or customer service is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Professional attitude and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented retail environment.
  • Willingness to indicate current region of residence in the application.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in telecommunications and digital financial services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle diverse customer needs.
  • Basic understanding of mobile money platforms and digital products.
