Data Scientist Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence, the Data Scientist will be instrumental in developing sophisticated analytical systems supporting revenue generation, risk management, operational efficiency, and portfolio management. This role focuses on transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights through advanced analytics and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• – Transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive tangible business gains through advanced analytics and visualization
• – Design and implement machine learning models and data mining solutions using bank-selected tools
• – Develop automated anomaly detection systems and maintain data quality standards
• – Create and optimize data warehouse solutions while ensuring proper data modeling and metric establishment
• – Implement statistical quality assurance procedures and performance tuning for analytical models
• – Collaborate with BI analysts to solve business problems through data-driven solutions
• – Design and maintain comprehensive documentation for models and statistical solutions
• – Lead continuous improvement initiatives for BI processes and systems

Required Qualifications

• – Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related quantitative field
• – 3-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in applied data analytics
• – Extensive knowledge of machine learning algorithms (k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests)
• – Proficiency in data science tools such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab
• – Strong SQL skills and experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase
• – Advanced statistical analysis capabilities and programming skills
• – Experience with agile development processes
• – Proven ability to handle complex data extraction and cleaning tasks
