Job Description

The Driver I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of motor vehicles assigned by WRSC. This role involves routine vehicle checks, ensuring passenger and cargo safety, and maintaining records of vehicle use. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive WRSC motor vehicles as authorized, adhering to traffic and safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine checks on vehicle systems, including cooling, oil, electrical, brakes, and tyres.
  • Identify and report any vehicle malfunctions for timely maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate work tickets and vehicle maintenance records.
  • Ensure the security and safety of vehicles, passengers, and cargo.
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of assigned vehicles.
  • Prepare periodic motor vehicle reports for management review.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years served as Driver II.
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) or equivalent.
  • Valid driving license free from endorsements, valid for required vehicle classes.
  • Passed Occupational Trade Test for Drivers Grade III from KIHBT or recognized institution.
  • First Aid Refresher Certificate of at least one week from St. John Ambulance, KIHBT, or recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from Kenya Police Service (DCI).
  • Proven merit and performance results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving for state corporations or government agencies.
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety and security protocols.
  • Strong responsibility, punctuality, and integrity.
  • Experience in administrative jobs in Nairobi or logistics coordination.
