East African Breweries Limited (EABL), a key business unit of Diageo Africa, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Strategy & Investor Relations Manager to join their team in Nairobi, Kenya. This senior management position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the long-term corporate strategy of a leading beverage company in East Africa.

EABL is the largest business unit in Diageo Africa, covering the Eastern Africa region with a growing exports business. As the 3rd largest listed company on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), EABL operates 6 breweries, 3 distilleries, and a barley & malting facility. With a strong portfolio of global and local brands, EABL is the leading beverage business in the region, boasting a net revenue of approximately $960 million and a profit after tax of around $85 million.
Job Overview:
The Strategy & Investor Relations Manager will play a crucial role in developing and delivering EABL’s long-term corporate strategy while effectively communicating the company’s vision, growth opportunities, and financial performance to investors and analysts. This position reports directly to the Group Head of Strategy (HoS) at EABL.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy Development and Implementation:
- – Support the HoS and EABL Executive team in strategy development
- – Track and monitor actions arising from strategic reviews
- – Align the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Annual Strategy Conference (ASC) with business strategy
2. Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis:
- – Monitor and evaluate the external environment, sector peers, and partners
- – Compile and disseminate competitive intelligence to senior leadership
- – Provide insights from the investment community to inform decision-making
3. Investor Relations and Communications:
- – Prepare and coordinate the Annual Integrated Report, Business Review Decks, Board presentations, and Investor decks
- – Analyze and report investors’ perceptions and opinions to management and the board of directors
- – Support effective communication of company strategy and performance to investors and analysts
4. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- – Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- – Create comprehensive reports for management and the board of directors
- – Contribute to the preparation of financial models and forecasts
Requirements:
- – Graduate degree in Economics, Business, or Accounting (MBA is an advantage)
- – Minimum 5 years of experience in financial, commercial & market analysis roles
- – Strong analytical and communication skills, with expertise in business performance evaluation
- – Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
- – Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint
- – In-depth knowledge of local market environment, trends, government policy, and regulatory requirements
- – Strong presentation, report writing, and research skills
- – Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
