Expediter/Chauffeur Job Description
The Expediter/Chauffeur is responsible for facilitating the smooth movement of U.S. Government personnel, TDY staff, and VIPs through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and other border entry points. The role combines professional driving duties with expediting, coordination, and logistical support to ensure efficient immigration, customs, and security clearance processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Escort embassy personnel, TDY staff, and VIPs during arrival and departure at airports and border points.
- Facilitate immigration and customs clearance, ensuring compliance with local and international procedures.
- Provide special assistance to travelers facing delays, visa issues, excess baggage, or other travel challenges.
- Maintain professional working relationships with airport staff, airline representatives, and customs officials.
- Coordinate VIP visits, including lounge access, motorcade planning, and transport logistics.
- Drive official U.S. Government and embassy-owned vehicles in compliance with security directives.
- Transport personnel and cargo to official meetings, events, residences, and embassy facilities.
- Remain on-call for after-hours pickups and drop-offs as operational needs require.
- Prepare airport pickup materials including name placards, schedules, and points of contact.
- Manage vehicle-related cash transactions, toll passes, and receipt accountability.
- Assist with airport badge applications and renewals at relevant authorities.
- Coordinate with Motorpool to ensure vehicles receive routine maintenance and inspections.
- Track vehicle mileage, cleanliness, fuel levels, and overall condition for reporting purposes.
- Deliver and collect official documents, packages, and invitations as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of high school education.
- Four years or more of professional driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Valid Kenyan driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
- Good working knowledge of English and fluent proficiency in Kiswahili.
- Basic clerical or office operations experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling airport passengers and cargo in a professional setting.
- Strong knowledge of Nairobi roads, traffic laws, and alternate routing.
- Ability to use map applications and standard office software.
- Demonstrated ability to operate calmly and make decisions under pressure.
