Field Engineer

SunCulture is hiring a Field Engineer to join their innovative team developing life-changing technology for smallholder farmers in Africa. As a Field Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in technical surveys, product installations, and after-sales support for SunCulture’s solar water pumps and irrigation systems.

Responsibilities:

• – Conduct technical surveys, site visits, and feasibility analyses for new projects
• – Install SunCulture products and provide after-sales services to customers
• – Mentor and train new engineers on product knowledge and troubleshooting
• – Manage project timelines, client communication, and contract processes
• – Identify and mitigate risks during installations, reporting issues promptly
• – Advise clients on suitable products and irrigation system designs
• – Achieve daily installation targets and maintain high app adherence standards

Requirements:

• – Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field (agricultural equipment specialization is a plus)
• – 2+ years of experience with solar pump systems and irrigation management
• – Strong hands-on skills in installations, surveys, and execution
• – Excellent communication abilities to interact with diverse customers
• – Independent thinking and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• – In-depth knowledge of industry trends and SunCulture products
• – Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• – Agile training capabilities and resilience to ambiguity
• – Proficiency in GSuite, Microsoft Office, and ideally CAD or project design software
• – Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• – Proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
