About the Role: Finance Director – Kenya

This leadership position will report to the UK-based Group CFO and is responsible for all financial strategy, operations, and reporting for Kenya. The Finance Director will be instrumental in building a scalable and insight-driven finance function that supports the organization’s rapid growth while maintaining strong governance and accountability standards. This is a hybrid strategic and operational role for an experienced finance professional who can lead, innovate, and execute.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that align with corporate goals
• Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes
• Evaluate capital investment opportunities and provide commercial finance guidance
• Lead treasury management, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
• Manage financial risks and ensure sound capital allocation practices

Financial Reporting & Analytics

• Oversee preparation of financial statements, audit documentation, and regulatory compliance
• Drive financial performance with accurate and timely FP&A reporting
• Enhance real-time decision-making through tools like Board and other forecasting platforms
• Provide insight for the development of the company’s five-year strategic roadmap
• Deliver reports and strategic recommendations to senior executives and the Board of Directors

Technology & Digital Transformation

• Lead financial digital transformation initiatives across ERP and analytics systems
• Leverage platforms like Microsoft Dynamics, AI tools, and automation to streamline operations

Team Leadership & Operational Excellence

• Manage a growing team of four qualified finance professionals in reporting, FP&A, and commercial finance
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and support cross-functional collaboration

What They’re Looking For

• Qualified finance professional (CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA, or equivalent certification)
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field
• Minimum of 15 years in senior financial leadership, ideally in fintech, banking, or financial services
• Advanced experience in FP&A, strategic financial planning, and cost control
• Strong background in ERP systems and data analytics platforms
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and influence business decisions
• Hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working in cross-border, multi-currency environments
