Job Description

As a Finance Intern – Accounts Payable, you will support the Accounts Payable Accountant in managing the financial operations related to vendor payments. This includes invoice processing, reconciliations, document management, and responding to inquiries from stakeholders. The internship is designed to provide practical training and exposure to real-world financial workflows within a high-impact organization.

This role is ideal for individuals with a background in finance or accounting who are eager to apply their academic knowledge, develop professional skills, and contribute to a meaningful mission in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing of vendor invoices and ensure timely, accurate payments.
  • Match purchase orders with invoices and delivery receipts to maintain compliance.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of accounts payable records and documentation.
  • Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving payment discrepancies.
  • Help prepare payment runs and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Respond to payment-related inquiries from internal departments and vendors.
  • Support month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable.
  • Participate in ad hoc financial tasks and special projects as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (completed).
  • Completed or actively pursuing CPA qualification.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward learning and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or academic projects related to finance or accounting.
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or MBC.
