Job Description

The Finance Officer, Branch Accounts (Business Analyst 1) is responsible for accurate and timely processing of supplier payments in Kenya, staff claims, and imprests, maintaining custody of financial records, reconciling bank accounts, and responding to supplier queries. The role ensures strong internal controls, supports financial reporting jobs in Kenya, and contributes to business analyst responsibilities in branch accounting. The officer will also assist in preparing schedules for withholding tax filing Kenya to facilitate timely payment and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process suppliers’ invoices and staff claims accurately, ensuring proper withholding tax treatment as per Kenya tax compliance jobs.
  • Perform bank account reconciliations and reconcile branch payment accounts to ensure accurate branch accounting.
  • Prepare and submit withholding tax returns and schedules to support compliance.
  • Coordinate filing and maintenance of payment documents for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
  • Review staff expense reports and manage staff imprests efficiently.
  • Respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally.
  • Support development of internal controls enhancement initiatives and contribute to payment policy improvements.
  • Participate in branch-level financial operations support and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline from a reputable university.
  • CPA (K) or ACCA professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fully-fledged accounting department with exposure to financial reporting roles, branch accounting operations, and payment reconciliation roles in Kenya.

Technical Competencies

  • Understanding of financial reporting requirements and IFRS standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, ERP systems, and accounting applications.
  • Knowledge of Kenya Tax Laws and Public Finance Management Act.
  • Basic understanding of Public Procurement Law.
  • Experience in branch accounts management, financial controls and compliance, and supplier payments processing Kenya.
