ICT Officer

SHOFCO SACCO is seeking a skilled ICT Officer to join their Operations team in Nairobi. This role offers an opportunity to manage and develop the ICT infrastructure of an impactful grassroots organization serving urban slum communities in Kenya.

About SHOFCO:

Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) is an internationally recognized organization impacting over 2.4 million people across 17 urban slums in Kenya. They provide critical services including healthcare, clean water, education, and economic empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Management:

• – Monitor and maintain systems and infrastructure
• – Identify user needs and report to ICT Manager
• – Set up and configure desktop computers and peripherals
• – Administer user accounts across all SACCO systems

2. Technical Support:

• – Provide first-line ICT support via phone, email, and in-person
• – Troubleshoot and resolve ICT-related issues
• – Install and configure hardware, operating systems, and applications
• – Perform routine hardware and software maintenance

3. Project Management:

• – Oversee ICT projects at the SACCO
• – Manage relationships with technology vendors
• – Liaise with SHOFCO for ICT department management

4. Data Management:

• – Maintain scheduled backups as per ICT policy
• – Run end-of-day, month, and year procedures in the ERP system

Requirements:

• – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related ICT field
• – Minimum 3 years of related work experience, preferably in a deposit-taking SACCO
• – Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching
• – Proficiency in common operating systems and database administration
• – Experience with Active Directory administration
• – Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP system (preferred)

Desired Qualifications:

• – Diploma in IT-related field
• – Professional certifications (Cisco, CISM, CISA, or similar)
