This internship presents a valuable opportunity for individuals looking for internship positions in Nairobi, or more specifically, IT internships in Kenya. Candidates will gain exposure to hands-on IT operations in a professional corporate environment and receive mentorship from industry experts. This role is ideal for those pursuing careers in IT support or technical helpdesk roles in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Intern will assist in the delivery of day-to-day IT support services, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Supporting local users through the company’s SMT (ticketing system) for all reported IT incidents.
  • Logging walk-in client requests into the ITPS DASH system to ensure tracking and timely resolution.
  • Deployment and tracking of BD accessories from inventory.
  • Ensuring proper cost recharging procedures are followed for issued BD accessories.
  • Installation and deployment of new or replacement computers, as directed by the ITFM country lead.
  • Updating the CMDB database whenever changes in IT inventory occur (i.e., items in/out of stock).
  • Participating in the monthly spot-check inventory audit led by the local ITFM country responsible.
  • Deploying mobile phones in accordance with instructions from the mobility country responsible.
  • Performing hands-on tasks related to IT infrastructure, such as replacing printers, access points, or switches.
  • Completing any other duties as assigned by the IT management team.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.

Experience:

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in an IT support or systems administration role is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of IT asset management and ticketing systems.
