IT Security Officer Position Overview

This IT Security Officer role represents a critical position within Old Mutual’s cybersecurity framework, focusing on day-to-day management and implementation of comprehensive information security measures. Key Responsibilities and Duties

Security Implementation and Management

The IT Security Officer will implement comprehensive security projects utilizing advanced cybersecurity tools and technologies:

• Deploy and manage Network Firewalls, Antivirus Systems, Database Security Systems, and Software Patching systems
• Implement two-factor authentication following risk-based approaches for critical system logins and remote VPN connections
• Conduct staff training and promote information security awareness campaigns
• Participate actively in information security assessments for business projects
• Develop risk-based plans and policies to safeguard information assets against unauthorized access

Vulnerability Management and Monitoring

Continuous monitoring and threat management responsibilities include:

• Monitor vulnerability reports from threat management systems including antivirus reports, firewalls, and alert systems
• Execute measures to remove identified vulnerabilities promptly
• Ensure encryption and data loss prevention standards implementation

• Develop information security policies where required
• Perform periodic User Access Rights reviews and recertifications

• Contribute to IT security risk and controls self-assessments

Requirements and Qualifications
