Job Description

The Laboratory Technologist III will provide essential laboratory services by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting patient samples. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement medical laboratory policies, standards, guidelines, and programs to ensure compliance and quality service delivery.
  • Decontaminate working benches and maintain a clean, safe laboratory environment.
  • Receive and scrutinize laboratory requisition forms and specimens for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare clients for specimen collection and ensure proper labeling and registration of samples.
  • Transfer specimens to designated sections for processing and analysis.
  • Prepare reagents and ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Examine specimens and conduct diagnostic tests in accordance with established protocols.
  • Record and report laboratory results accurately and promptly for clinical management.
  • Dispatch results to relevant departments and healthcare providers.
  • Prepare stains and issue blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities, ensuring proper storage conditions.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
  • Registration Certificate issued by KMLTTB.
  • Valid practicing license from KMLTTB.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to laboratory operations.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
