Job Description
The Manager, Finance is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in financial management across the Corporation. Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, the role oversees financial policy development, accounting systems, budgeting, treasury management, and compliance with public finance laws.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of financial policies, strategies, guidelines, and procedures in line with KBC objectives.
- Ensure financial prudence and discipline in accounting, planning, treasury management, and budgetary controls in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) 2012 and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
- Oversee development and maintenance of internal financial controls, accounting systems, and reporting frameworks.
- Manage revenue and treasury operations, including monitoring cash flows and financial performance.
- Spearhead preparation and submission of financial and management reports in accordance with established guidelines.
- Oversee administration and control of the Corporation’s budget.
- Lead preparation of the annual budget, Ministerial Public Expenditure Review (MPER), and Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
- Oversee tax planning and administration to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts, accountable documents, and the fixed asset register.
- Coordinate and support external financial audits.
- Lead development and implementation of departmental strategic plans, budgets, performance contracts, and staff appraisals.
- Promote principles of good governance, transparency, accountability, ethics, and integrity.
- Manage, mentor, and develop staff within the Finance Department.
Required Qualifications
- At least fifteen (15) years cumulative work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at management level or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Statistics, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Part III or equivalent qualification.
- Membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
- Certificate in leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
