  • Basic Salary: KES 32,700 – 42,690

Minimum Job Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates for the Market Officer II position will be responsible for a wide range of functions designed to enhance market operations across the city:

  • General administrative duties within designated public markets.
  • Supervision of revenue collection, environmental sanitation, and enforcement staff.
  • Coordinating daily market activities to meet revenue and operational targets.
  • Maintaining proper record-keeping and ensuring timely submission of reports to the Head of Markets.
  • Ensuring that the market premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Liaising with Nairobi City County headquarters to ensure effective delivery of services in the markets.
  • Resolving conflicts between traders and enforcing county policies within the market.
  • Serving as a key communication link between market traders and the main Markets Department.
  • Carrying out any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time.
