UNICEF is hiring a Planning and Monitoring Specialist for their Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO). This role supports high-quality programme planning, reviews, and reporting processes across 21 country offices in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Country Office Support (40%)
- – Provide technical assistance for planning, monitoring, and reporting
- – Quality assurance of country programme development
- – Support digital work planning module rollout
2. ESARO Programme Planning (30%)
- – Assist with ESARO annual and mid-year programme reviews
- – Contribute to Regional Office Annual Report development
- – Support digital work planning for ESARO sections
3. Regional Meetings Coordination (15%)
- – Organize regional leadership platforms (RMT, DREP)
- – Prepare quality reports for milestone meetings
- – Conduct and analyze feedback surveys
4. Collaboration for Children (C4C) Support (10%)
- – Assist with C4C implementation and documentation
- – Organize review meetings and maintain SharePoint
5. Administrative Support (5%)
- – Manage ESARO editor/writer contracts
- – Coordinate Programme Coordination Team meetings
Requirements:
- – Advanced degree in social sciences, economics, public policy, or related field
- – 5+ years of professional experience in planning, reporting, or research
- – Proven ability to synthesize technical information for diverse audiences
- – Excellent writing and analytical skills
- – Proficiency in online collaborative tools
- – Fluency in English (additional UN language an asset)
Preferred Qualifications:
- – Experience in developing countries or emergency contexts
