Minimum Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

The Principal Market Officer will be responsible for overseeing zonal operations and ensuring the smooth coordination of all market activities. Key duties include:

• Assisting the Director in setting measurable performance targets and KPIs for markets within the zone.
• Supervising all market officers and support staff under their jurisdiction, ensuring optimal performance and accountability.
• Conducting regular market surveys and evaluations to inform planning, reporting, and improvements.
• Compiling and submitting weekly, monthly, and annual reports from all markets in the assigned zone.
• Identifying operational gaps, managing logistics, and implementing necessary market development initiatives.
• Ensuring all markets under their zone maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation standards.
• Coordinating timely responses to correspondences and issues within their zone.
• Leading the staff appraisal process for all zonal team members, contributing to career development and training needs identification.
• Undertaking any other duty as assigned by the Director or authorized senior officer.
