Job Description

The Procurement Officer will drive sourcing efficiency and supplier performance, ensuring materials and services are procured on time and at competitive costs. Serving as a core member of the procurement team and reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the role is central to HACO’s ability to meet production plans and launch new products. Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes: sourcing, supplier selection, purchase orders, and contract administration.
• Ensure timely conversion of purchase requisitions and closely monitor delivery lead times to meet production schedules.
• Validate supplier invoices, GRNs and supporting documentation to enable timely payments and accurate financial records.
• Work with Finance to maintain correct accruals and commitment reporting related to procurement activities.
• Support new product development by securing reliable raw material supply and negotiating favourable commercial terms.
• Deliver spend analysis, supplier scorecards, and realized savings reports to inform procurement strategy.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier reliability and reduce cost-to-serve.
• Keep procurement documentation audit-ready, including vendor quotes, POs and contract files.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years procurement experience, ideally in FMCG or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, dashboards).
• Membership in the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
• CIPS Level 4 or higher is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of procurement ethics, compliance and supplier ESG considerations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling procurement for multi-brand FMCG portfolios.
• Track record with digital procurement tools or ERP transformation projects.
• Knowledge of responsible sourcing practices and supplier sustainability reporting.
