Key Responsibilities of the KEMRI Receptionist

  • – Provide a welcoming, professional greeting to all research participants, visitors, and staff
  • – Manage comprehensive front desk operations including phone systems, appointment scheduling, and handling general inquiries
  • – Register new study participants and maintain accurate records within the participant database
  • – Work collaboratively with clinical and research teams to support smooth clinic operations
  • – Share information about available clinic services, including family planning and PrEP services
  • – Ensure strict confidentiality of all participant information in accordance with research ethics guidelines and institutional policies

Requirements for the Receptionist Position

  • – Diploma in Front Office Management or equivalent qualification
  • – Additional certification in office administration or a related field
  • – Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse populations
  • – Demonstrated organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • – Proficiency with computer systems and relevant software applications
  • – Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive healthcare information
  • – Basic knowledge of HIV prevention strategies, including oral PrEP (advantage)
  • – Friendly, empathetic demeanor with a patient-centered approach to service
  • – Ability to thrive in a fast-paced research environment
