Risk Management Officer

MIGA (World Bank Group) is hiring a Risk Management Officer in Nairobi

The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group, is seeking an experienced Risk Management Officer to join their Economics and Sustainability Group (MIGES) in Nairobi. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to global development through risk assessment and management.

World Bank Group Risk Management Officer Job Position Overview

The Risk Management Officer will be responsible for country and project risk assessment, development impact analysis, and World Bank Group country engagement strategy coordination. This position plays a crucial role in MIGA’s mission to promote foreign direct investment in developing countries.

Key Responsibilities

Country Risk Analysis:

• – Track political and macroeconomic risk developments
• – Prepare and defend country risk rating proposals
• – Participate in MIGA’s country rating committee

Project Analysis:

• – Conduct political risk due diligence
• – Assess project development impact
• – Provide sector-specific expertise
• – Prepare documentation for decision-making committees

Strategy Coordination:

• – Engage in World Bank Group country partnership processes
• – Contribute to Country Climate Development Reports
• – Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• – Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or Public Policy
• – Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
• – Experience with international credit rating agencies preferred

Technical Skills:

• – Strong econometric and financial modeling abilities
• – Expertise in macro-economic and financial analysis
• – Understanding of sovereign credit risk
• – Knowledge of political risk insurance
• – Development impact assessment experience

Additional Requirements:

• – Excellent written and verbal English skills (French desirable)
• – Willingness to travel on short notice
• – Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
