SD Guard Shift Supervisor Job Description
The SD Guard Shift Supervisor leads frontline surveillance detection operations designed to identify, deter, and respond to hostile surveillance activities. This position oversees a Surveillance Detection Unit of approximately 15 personnel and ensures the effective execution of daily operational tasks. Reporting directly to the Surveillance Detection Coordinator, the supervisor plays a vital role in embassy security and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance detection operations within assigned areas to identify suspicious behavior and potential hostile surveillance.

- Monitor local pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns to detect anomalies affecting U.S. Government facilities and personnel.
- Initiate emergency responses when necessary to safeguard life and property.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and ensure proper distribution and accountability of operational equipment.
- Evaluate daily performance of SD personnel and provide operational guidance.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate verbal and written security reports.
- Maintain surveillance records and perform data entry using approved software tools.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to newly hired SD Guards.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education, high school diploma, or local equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of military, police, or private sector security experience.
- At least six months of proven supervisory experience.
- English language proficiency at Level 2, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Kiswahili proficiency at Level 3 with good working knowledge.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance detection techniques and security operations.
- Experience preparing operational reports and managing shift schedules.
- Familiarity with cultural norms and customs relevant to security work in Kenya.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
