Senior Planning and Records Officer – Role Overview
The Senior Planning and Records Officer position at Safarilink Aviation is a critical technical role responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining aircraft maintenance planning standards and technical records systems. Reporting directly to the Head of Maintenance, the role ensures all maintenance activities comply with KCAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and internal quality standards.
This role supports both Safarilink and supported fleets by ensuring accurate maintenance forecasting, aircraft configuration control, and reliable technical data management. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, coordinate, and control aircraft maintenance planning and scheduling activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations in line with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive maintenance work scopes for aircraft, engines, propellers, and APUs ahead of scheduled hangar and shop visits.
- Coordinate and manage technical records data capture, storage, and reporting to ensure accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
- Manage and control aircraft configuration changes, ensuring compliance with type certificates, airworthiness directives, and approved maintenance programs.
- Support the development and implementation of training programs for technical staff within the planning and records function.
- Represent technical services in interdepartmental and intradepartmental meetings, contributing to maintenance strategy and operational planning.
- Develop and implement engine stagger programs and component removal plans in collaboration with the planning division.
- Ensure maintenance planning activities align with quality assurance and regulatory compliance standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis for technical incidents and support corrective and preventive action planning.
- Liaise with aircraft and component manufacturers to resolve technical issues and improve maintenance procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution in Aeronautical Engineering or a related aviation discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in aircraft maintenance planning and technical records within the aviation industry.
- Strong working knowledge of KCAA regulations and approved aircraft maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated experience with aircraft maintenance planning systems and technical records management software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools used in aviation planning.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across technical teams.
