Britam is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the role of Senior Relationship Executive. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage bank partnerships, driving profitable product distribution and revenue generation across multiple lines of business.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Relationship Executive will be responsible for managing assigned banks to distribute profitable Britam products. They will coordinate with bancassurance head office managers, Bancassurance Officers, and Regional relationship officers to generate revenues across all lines of business. The role involves working closely with the regional team to support the implementation of specific bank partner strategies across different regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • – Collaborate with Bancassurance Head office team to implement partner portfolio strategies across all lines of business (General Insurance, Medical, EMC, Life & Pension)
  • – Develop regional-specific strategies with relationship officers to unlock potential with key bank partners
  • – Support onboarding of regional domiciled partners, including Saccos, MFIs, and other financial institutions
  • – Implement business drivers to meet agreed service level agreements at regional levels
  • – Communicate regional expectations and provide insights to deliver competitive products and processes
  • – Foster team collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • – Ensure profitable business growth through new business acquisition and retention of existing accounts
  • – Develop and oversee implementation of training calendars for regional bank teams
  • – Manage relationships with key regional accounts and corporate clients
  • – Facilitate preparation of accurate and competitive insurance quotations
  • – Oversee tender/RFP processing for allocated banks
  • – Provide feedback for product development and delivery
  • – Ensure prompt follow-up on renewals to achieve prescribed retention ratios
  • – Manage debt in line with set credit control policies
  • – Oversee work plans and schedules for assigned relationship executives
  • – Prepare expense budgets and revenue targets as required

Relationship Building & Sales Management:

  • – Build and maintain strong relationships with bank partners’ branch managers and senior relationship managers
  • – Actively manage relationships with bank branches to ensure smooth operation of distribution channels
  • – Integrate team members into a cohesive unit committed to the team vision
  • – Coach and mentor team members
  • – Maintain event calendars to increase team building and brand awareness
  • – Apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems
  • – Ensure after-sales service support and timely provision of documentation
  • – Monitor and report on SLAs and TATs
  • – Maintain an activities tracker for strategic initiatives

Training:

  • – Coordinate empowerment trainings on products and processes for bank partners
  • – Conduct induction training for new partner officers on Britam processes
  • – Ensure customers are well-informed about solutions through various means

Reporting:

  • – Prepare and share weekly and monthly reports within agreed timelines
  • – Submit monthly expense reports following stipulated procedures

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications Required:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related business field
  • – Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, FLMI, or IIK), or significant progress towards certification
  • – 3-6 years of experience in insurance services or financial sector
  • – At least 2 years in a busy insurance business development environment, sales relationship management, or bancassurance
