Senior Technical Advisor Job Description

The Senior Technical Advisor – School Meals serves as the global catalyst for transforming school meal programs into high-impact, scalable solutions that enhance child well-being. This role focuses on resource mobilization, strategic partnerships, program quality, digital innovation, research, and advocacy. Candidates exploring fresh positions in technical advisory roles will lead initiatives to standardize, scale, and improve school meals programs while supporting Field Offices to embed these programs into national strategies.

This position involves guiding the adoption of World Vision school meal standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency. The Senior Technical Advisor provides technical support, mentorship, and capacity-building to internal teams and partners while contributing to digital solutions, monitoring systems, and evidence-based programming for vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive resource mobilization strategies and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance school meals reach and sustainability.
  • Promote innovative school meals marketing offers to position programs as top investment opportunities.
  • Lead scale-up of programs by supporting Field Offices to adopt school meals standards, including evidence-based practices and policy integration.
  • Support digitalization of school meals program delivery, monitoring, reporting, and beneficiary feedback for improved transparency and efficiency.
  • Lead research, evidence generation, and knowledge management to inform programming and highlight World Vision’s thought leadership.
  • Represent World Vision in global and regional school meals forums and coordinate with ENOUGH campaign teams and partners.
  • Develop semi-annual reports, updates, and external-facing communications to showcase program impact and innovation.
  • Provide mentorship and capacity building for Field Office teams on technical, programmatic, and digital competencies.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, governments, and multilateral institutions to strengthen program credibility and scale.
  • Monitor program implementation, track results, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Education, Nutrition, Food Security, International Development, Social Sciences, or MBA.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in school meals, food assistance, education, or related sectors, including 5 years in senior technical or advisory roles.
  • Proven track record in resource mobilization, donor engagement, and strategic partnership management at regional or global levels.
  • Expertise in integrated program design, scale-up strategies, and digital transformation for program delivery.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and partnership-building skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including high-risk or fragile contexts.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in digital platforms and MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with UN agencies, governments, and external partners.
  • Strong prioritization and program management skills, delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, mentoring experience, and capacity-building skills.
  • Experience in documenting and disseminating program evidence, advocacy materials, and technical guidance.
