Student Attachment Job Description
Selected students will be placed in either technical or support departments based on their field of study and interest. Technical placements focus on research and policy analysis, while support placements provide exposure to administrative, operational, and professional services. Interns will participate in projects, assist with departmental operations, and contribute to research outputs and organizational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in research, data collection, and analysis within assigned departments.
- Support documentation, reporting, and knowledge management activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Contribute to publications, policy briefs, and internal reports.
- Provide administrative support including filing, records management, and correspondence.
- Engage in stakeholder communications and project coordination as assigned.
- Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and ethical guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Ongoing enrollment in a recognized university or higher learning institution.
- Relevant fields for technical departments: Economics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Statistics, Governance, Urban Planning, Agriculture, Political Science, Gender Studies, Criminology, Curriculum Development, Library & Information Studies.
- Relevant fields for support departments: Finance/Accounting, Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, Communication, ICT, Law, Records Management, Business Administration, Secretarial Studies, Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Strong academic performance and interest in public policy, governance, or administration.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and organizational standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship, volunteer, or project experience in policy, governance, administration, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of research methodologies, data management, or policy analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment.
