Job Description

The Theatre Technician III provides essential technical support in operating theatres and the CSSD, ensuring that surgical instruments and equipment are prepared, sterilized, and maintained according to hospital standards. This role ensures a clean, safe, and efficient environment for surgical teams and patients. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain procedure rooms and operating theatre equipment for a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
  • Ensure operating tables, floors, linen, and rubbish are managed and sterilized after each procedure.
  • Collect, assemble, and return all necessary instruments and equipment required for surgical procedures.
  • Carry out sterilization and decontamination processes, including wrapping items for sterilization.
  • Store sterile sets and packs appropriately, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Issue sterile sets and packs to operating room staff, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Assist in the safe movement of patients within the operating theatre, promoting patient safety at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Nurse In-charge or hospital administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate in Theatre Technician course or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to hospital operations.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
