Position Overview:

As a Wait Staff member at Java House, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer experiences across all touch points. This position requires a passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

• – Present menu options and provide recommendations based on customer preferences
• – Assist guests in navigating the menu comfortably
• – Handle customer interactions professionally at various touch points
• – Collaborate with team members to ensure positive customer experiences
• – Present bills promptly and process payments accurately

2. Order Management:

• – Take orders accurately and deliver them to tables neatly, following ticket specifications
• – Key in orders in the Point of Sale (POS) system
• – Receive and process orders from aggregator tablets
• – Pack and dispatch orders to guests efficiently

3. Inventory and Supply Management:

• – Order items through the Vuka system for the store
• – Receive items from Food scape and other suppliers
• – Maintain accurate inventory records

4. Restaurant Operations:

• – Ensure general cleaning of the restaurant and uphold highest hygiene standards
• – Perform table clearance duties
• – Communicate any Repairs & Maintenance or IT issues to the Area Manager
• – Execute closing duties of the branch

5. Upselling and Sales:

• – Take the lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences
• – Contribute to meeting sales targets and improving customer satisfaction

Requirements:

• – 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in the food and beverage industry
• – Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili
• – Strong customer service orientation
• – Ability to work under pressure and for long hours
• – Team player with a positive attitude
• – Results-oriented and self-driven
• – Articulate and proactive approach to work
• – Basic math skills for handling payments and bills
• – Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays
• – Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
