Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Transaction Processing and Recording

  • Implement established accounting policies, procedures, and financial regulations within the Commission
  • Compile, verify, and post daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting software system
  • Prepare payment vouchers and meticulously verify all supporting documentation for completeness and compliance
  • Process payroll documentation and ensure timely and accurate salary payments to staff
  • Maintain systematic and organized accounting documentation for easy retrieval and reference

Financial Reconciliation and Reporting

  • Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts and cash balances to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare statutory returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations and other financial obligations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Monitor expenditures against budgets and provide variance analysis when required
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers and ensure they reconcile with general ledger accounts
