Analyst Job Description

The Analyst – Office of the MD will operate in a highly strategic role within the Executive Office, supporting the Managing Director through data analytics, business reporting, and strategic project tracking. This position serves as the analytical engine behind executive decision-making, offering insights that shape EIB’s long-term growth and market positioning.

The role is ideal for candidates seeking investment banking analyst opportunities in Kenya, particularly those who possess a strong blend of technical expertise, business insight, and communication acumen. The Analyst will function as a bridge between data and leadership, influencing the firm’s direction through insight-driven recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data & Performance Analytics

  • Analyze business performance metrics and trends to identify opportunities for growth or optimization.
  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to support executive visibility.
  • Consolidate inputs from various departments into unified reporting formats that support executive clarity.

2. Strategic Communication & Executive Presentations

  • Create high-impact presentation decks for internal and board-level use.
  • Convert complex datasets into compelling visual narratives that drive stakeholder understanding.
  • Assist the MD in articulating the organization’s strategic direction and performance story to stakeholders.

3. Project & Initiative Support

  • Provide analytics and coordination support for key strategic initiatives led by the Managing Director.
  • Track milestones, report on progress, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Engage cross-functional teams to ensure quality input and consistency in reporting metrics.

4. Research & Business Intelligence

  • Conduct market, industry, and competitor research to inform strategy formulation.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and synthesize implications for EIB’s operations.
  • Build forecasting models to support scenario analysis and forward-looking planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI or Tableau, SQL, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience preparing strategic presentations for C-suite or board-level stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA Level I/II, CPA, CBAP) is an advantage.
  • Experience in financial services, consulting, or data analytics roles.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira).
