Assistant Director, Information & Communication Technology

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC)
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is hiring for the position of Assistant Director, Information & Communication Technology. KNEC is a state corporation mandated to conduct school and post-school examinations within Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- – Provide leadership in formulating and implementing ICT strategies
- – Ensure adherence to ICT policies, procedures, and standards
- – Oversee ICT programs and activities
- – Manage, coordinate, and supervise ICT functions
- – Establish mechanisms for disaster recovery and business continuity
- – Draw ICT budgets and procurement plans
- – Coordinate systems development, implementation, and maintenance
- – Liaise with users to ensure their ICT needs are met
- – Review and evaluate feasibility studies and reports for implementation
- – Supervise and manage ICT projects within planned time and budget
- – Coordinate information systems security audits and recommend improvements
- – Prepare work plans, conduct staff performance appraisals, and submit reports
- – Develop and implement staff capacity-building measures
- – Facilitate procurement of ICT equipment and services
Requirements:
- – At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with 4 years at the management level
- – Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- – Certifications: CCNA, MCSE, MCSD, CISA, and Oracle certification
- – Management course lasting at least 4 weeks
- – Demonstrated merit in work performance
- – Membership in a professional body
- – Proficiency in computer applications
- – Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
