Remuneration Package

• Basic Salary Range: KES 90,200 – 124,630
• House Allowance: KES 45,000
• Commuter Allowance: KES 12,000

Minimum Job Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, or any other relevant field.
• Must have served in the Markets Department within Nairobi City County or equivalent department in a similar setting for a period not less than five (5) years.
• Must demonstrate a track record of high performance, effective team leadership, and achieving measurable results.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As an Assistant Director in the Markets Management Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supervising the performance and operational effectiveness of zonal market managers.
• Assisting in the formulation and implementation of the department’s annual work plan to meet key targets and performance indicators.
• Creating and maintaining a conducive work environment that promotes efficiency, collaboration, and staff wellbeing.
• Handling customer care issues and managing public complaints to ensure satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Providing strategic input and operational support to the Director as may be required in fulfilling the mandate of the department.
