Associate – Private Client /Trusts & Estates

The role holder will advise high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and family-owned businesses on trusts, estate planning, succession, wealth preservation and fiduciary structures.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on trusts, succession planning, estate administration, wealth preservation, and family wealth structures.
• Draft and review trust deeds, wills, and other estate planning and fiduciary documents.
• Conduct legal due diligence and identify legal, regulatory, and governance risks.
• Support the establishment, administration, and governance of trusts and fiduciary structures.
• Advise on asset-holding, investment, and family business structures.
• Prepare legal opinions, advisory memoranda, and other client deliverables, supported by legal research.

Requirements

• Educational Background: LLB degree with strong academic record; admission to practice in Kenya with 2-5 years’ PQE.
• Technical Excellence: Strong knowledge of trust law, succession law, estate planning, and private client practice.
• Commercial acumen: exceptional drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, coupled with demonstratable track record of supporting senior lawyers dealing with both local and multinational clients.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
