Key Responsibilities – Barista Duties at Roasted Truth
Ikigai Member and Guest Service
- Provide a warm, welcoming experience for all members and guests visiting Roasted Truth.
- Sell and prepare drinks with attention to guest preferences, including choice of coffee blend, dairy, and sugar levels.
- Package food and beverages for take-away or dine-in, maintaining appealing presentation standards.
- Educate members on Roasted Truth products, including brewing methods like V60 and AeroPress.
- Process payments, explain menu items and specials, and manage orders during events and conferences.
Inventory and Procurement Management
- Manage stock levels using the Revel POS system and ensure inventory records are up to date.
- Receive stock from suppliers, verify invoices, and communicate with the finance team.
- Conduct mid-month and end-month stocktakes with commentary on variances.
- Ensure stock rotation (FIFO), minimize wastage, and maintain accurate handovers with relief baristas.
Café and Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Keep café clean and well-maintained, including sanitizing equipment and restocking areas.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunction for timely maintenance.
- Collaborate with location-based food partners for consistent service and product quality.
Requirements – What It Takes to Work at Ikigai
Education
- A diploma in hospitality management or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the hospitality or food and beverage industry.
- Experience in coffee brewing using professional equipment is a strong advantage.
- Customer service excellence and relationship management experience required.
- Strong communication skills, multitasking ability, and the capacity to work under pressure.
- Holds a valid food handler’s certificate.
