Branch Manager – Role Overview
The Branch Manager role at 4G Capital Kenya is responsible for the overall management, operation, and performance of a 4G Capital unit. The position oversees customer applications, loan approvals, loan disbursements, and collections, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
A Branch Manager in Kenya directly delivers branch profitability by achieving sales targets, collections targets, and other key performance indicators. This leadership role requires a hands-on manager who can drive results, mentor teams, manage risk, and uphold the highest standards of customer protection and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly loan disbursement and collections targets for the branch in line with set KPIs.
- Oversee all loan verification processes, including spoof calling, reference checks, and customer ID verification.
- Provide strong leadership and problem-solving support to branch teams across all operational functions.
- Conduct thorough due diligence prior to loan approvals to ensure portfolio quality.
- Implement effective fraud prevention measures and ensure timely reporting of all fraud-related incidents.
- Promote financial inclusion outreach through new customer acquisition and customer retention strategies.
- Ensure strict branch adherence to SOPs and internal policies.
- Build strong relationships with customers, customer-partners, and local opinion leaders.
- Deliver and maintain first-rate customer service standards across the branch.
- Ensure all teams follow the customer complaints handling procedure.
- Provide accurate and timely management reporting, including market feedback and customer insights.
- Oversee administrative duties such as office cleanliness, filing, procurement, and inventory management.
- Champion customer protection and responsible lending by enforcing affordability checks and SMART customer care standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management as part of the Branch Manager role.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to challenges.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision in dynamic environments.
