Consultant – Qualitative Researcher (Data collection and transcription)

Aga Khan University’s Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health (CoEWCH) is hiring a Qualitative Researcher for the AIMIX Project, focusing on inclusive AI for obstetric imaging in resource-limited settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• – Conduct interviews (IDIs, FGDs, KIIs)
• – Transcribe and translate interviews verbatim into English
• – Recruit study participants ethically and efficiently
• – Ensure quality control in data collection
• – Compile comprehensive debriefing notes
• – Safely store audio files and safeguard study equipment
• – Review and edit transcripts for accuracy and quality

Requirements:

• – Minimum 3 years experience in qualitative research methods
• – Proven skill in conducting in-depth interviews, KIIs, and FGDs
• – Strong attention to detail and transcription accuracy
• – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• – Ability to work independently and in a team
• – Fluency in English and Swahili (spoken and written)
• – Knowledge of ethical guidelines for human participant research
