Data Analyst – MKOPA

Mkopa is Hirin a Data Analyst – Sourcing Vacancy to Align Sourcing Processes Across Markets

As the Data Analyst – Sourcing, you will support Mkopa’s Global product sourcing and align sourcing processes across markets. Reporting to the Senior Sourcing Manager, your responsibilities will involve supplier relationship management (OEM/Distributor/Dealer) and new product transition in close liaison with Market Development.

Key Responsibilities:

Product/Accessories Sourcing
– Lead multi-sourcing of phone accessories across markets and ensure all accessories are approved before sourcing
– Obtain quotes from different suppliers (Wholesalers and retail outlets) to maintain a tracker on price movements and support supplier product negotiations
– Support new distributor/supplier onboarding in collaboration with Mkopa’s Procurement and Legal department
– Ensure all expiring supplier contracts are re-negotiated and renewed in good time

Product Management

– Assist in managing the new phone model transition in close liaison with Market Development
– Ensure test samples are received and test plans uploaded in good time

Certifications

– Follow up with OEMs to ensure Type Approval certificates are in place before the start of sales in each country
– Maintain an updated TA tracker for all markets

Material Supply Planning

– Coordinate with Mkopa’s Planning Team to ensure all suppliers’ POs are released per the agreed supplier terms to avoid product delivery delays
– Ensure supplier deliveries are following the communicated delivery plan and update the subsequent sourcing trackers

Supplier Relationship

– Oversee tracking of OEM activations targets and work with warehouse teams to ensure targets are achieved
– Manage rebate tracking and follow up with OEM/MNO to ensure credit notes are received

Other Stakeholder Support

– Offer support to Market Development and Security teams during the product testing process
– Provide supplier support for all ongoing and new products
– Perform any other responsibilities assigned by Mkopa’s management

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field
– 2+ years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Demand Planning/Forecasting role
– Strong project management, planning, and organizing skills
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Proficiency in MS Excel, including complex functions
– Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors
– Understanding of the sourcing and evaluation process, as well as logistics and capacity management
– Demonstrated experience working with suppliers and managing supplier relationships
