Job Description
The Database Officer in the Risk Management Unit plays a crucial role in supporting ICRC’s projects by ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation, and verification of field activities. The position oversees the day-to-day management of the Call Centre, supervises Call Centre Assistants, and ensures the accuracy and quality of verification processes.

Key Responsibilities
Call Centre and Team Management
- Schedule and oversee post-distribution monitoring assignments for Call Centre teams in Nairobi and Mogadishu.
- Supervise Call Centre Assistants to ensure timely delivery of outputs in compliance with internal guidelines.
- Ensure the Call Centre runs smoothly, applying standard operating procedures and maintaining the integrity of collected information.
Data Management and Analysis
- Translate verification materials between English and Somali, ensuring adherence to telephone survey standards.
- Conduct quality control checks on verification and monitoring data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze data and generate reports to inform risk management strategies.
- Enhance data collection methodologies to improve reliability and reporting quality.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Compile quarterly reports detailing feedback, complaints, and resolutions.
- Collect and analyze feedback from field operations to improve project implementation and inform decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in project monitoring & evaluation, with strong data management skills.
- 2+ years’ experience in a call centre environment, including knowledge of call centre technology and telephony.
- Fluency in English and Somali, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with data analysis methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in monitoring or verification work in Somalia.
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and within diverse teams.
- Customer service experience and the ability to manage stress and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated integrity, ethics, and a high level of confidentiality.
