Role Overview – Dental Surgeon Job in Nairobi

As a part-time dental practitioner, you’ll be responsible for providing comprehensive oral health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment. You’ll play a key role in implementing preventive care strategies and building patient trust as part of our vision to become the most trusted healthcare provider in Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct oral examinations and diagnose dental issues accurately.
  • Formulate and implement tailored treatment plans for patients.
  • Perform various dental procedures such as extractions, fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges, and dentures.
  • Promote oral hygiene and educate patients on preventive practices.
  • Ensure all procedures comply with infection control standards and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with nurses and clinical officers to provide holistic care.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential dental records for all patients.
  • Manage dental equipment and monitor inventory levels.
  • Lead or participate in community outreach programs focused on oral health awareness in Nairobi.
  • Keep abreast of the latest techniques and technologies in dental practice.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of learning and professional development.
  • Support the clinic in attracting and retaining dental patients through excellent service and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a recognized institution.
  • Registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting, preferably within experienced dental surgeon roles in Nairobi.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic, ethical, and professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency in time management and teamwork.
  • Willingness to contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability.
