Deputy Director Human Resource Management Job Description – Human Resource Management Jobs in Nairobi
Reporting to the Director of Human Resource Management and Administration, the Deputy Director will establish, coordinate, and operationalize human resource management functions within the Health, Wellness and Nutrition Sector. The role provides strategic leadership across Medical Services, Public Health, Health Facilities, and Wellness, Nutrition, and School Feeding programmes.
The successful candidate will oversee HR policy implementation, workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and organizational development while ensuring compliance with County Public Service regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and administer human resource management functions across the assigned sub-sectors.
- Implement HR policies, regulations, and procedures while ensuring compliance with County Public Service requirements.
- Prepare HR reports for submission to the County Human Resource Management Advisory Committee (CHRMAC).
- Analyze workforce utilization and recommend appropriate staff deployment for optimal organizational performance.
- Monitor employee performance, career progression, and prepare implementation reports.
- Develop proposals on workforce planning and succession management to ensure operational continuity.
- Evaluate the impact of HR policies and recommend improvements for effective implementation.
- Provide technical HR guidance and advisory support to Sector Human Resource Committees.
- Support strategic decision-making through workforce analytics and HR performance reporting.
- Promote best practices in employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
Required Qualifications – Human Resource Management Careers in Kenya
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an Assistant Director Human Resource Management or in a comparable position.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, plus a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations, or an equivalent qualification.
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) qualification.
- Valid membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
- Management course lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications and candidates seeking CHRP certified HR jobs in Kenya are encouraged to apply.
